I realized today that I had set up this blog and had not yet posted on it!! What was I thinking? Obviously nothing of note.
Probably because my creative shorts have been in a twist and I have not felt the least bit creative or green or even much chi!
Spring has sprung here in upstate NY and I, for one, am glad for it....ready, willing, grateful and mindful of every ray of sunshine that makes it through my grimy windows ( task #1 - wash them). I love the blue of the spring sky and my mini daffodils peeking through the leaves. My tulips are poking up and the lilacs are starting to bud.
Recently got back from a week at a rug hooking camp which allowed me the luxury of focusing on the play of color, the strategy of placement of loops and the sheer meditative quality of pulling the loops one after the next. As someone who works full-time, I sometimes feel too tired to engage the frame and wool only to realize the error of my ways once I have allowed myself the time and space to do it. So the frame is now next to my chair with a nice pile of beautifully dyed wool and my favorite hook. The linen stretches across my frame and I can run my hands over the brilliant winter moon I have already hooked and work on adding the evening sky. The birch tree gleams and the raven perched on it's branches cocks his head and listens.
A wonderful place to be....
